Oribe Canales, a hairstylist in New York City, became a name to know when he began partnering with famed photographer Steven Meisel in the late 1980s and worked with Gianni Versace in the early 1990s. Canales founded the Oribe Agency during that time, which represented big beauty names such as Laura Mercier, Nars, Kevin Mancuso and Bobbi Brown, and also opened the Oribe Fifth Avenue salon at Elizabeth Arden in 1991.
