Salt By Hendrix is a plant-based Australian label known for its modernist and minimalist packaging. However, what’s inside is certainly worth the hype, as well as who inspired it. Kellie is the founder and her son, Hendrix, was the catalyst for her journey. It was after he was born that Kellie decided to turn her back on her banking and finance career and pursue her skincare dreams. Kellie tells us that “Hendrix had really sensitised skin, so I began taking increased notice of ingredients and formulations and from there I decided that I wanted to create products myself”.
Read MoreShe admits that in the beginning there was lots of trial and error; “Obviously not being a chemist, I had to do an immense amount of research and testing on myself as well as friends and family. I was constantly waiting to see what sort of ingredients could achieve the results I was looking for without sacrificing integrity or impacting anyone’s health”. It’s a process that has certainly paid off. The brand's theory is that plants have amazing offerings for the skin, especially those found in Australia. Kellie wants her customers to know they can come to her for luxury products that are affordable and clean but also for ingredients that have been selected with purpose and integrity. “We’ve found that plant-based ingredients are excellent for sensitised skin and are really gentle” Kellie continues. “So for us, it’s a win-win – the ingredients are clean and are high-performing too”.
