How do I know which products on Project bYouty are cruelty-free?
That’s an easy one. EVERYTHING IS! 100% of our products go through rigorous research analysis from our buyers before they receive our stamp of approval. So you can shop freely knowing that nothing has been - or will ever be - tested on animals. (Look for the bunny icon on each product for a little reminder.)
What does ‘cruelty-free’ actually mean?
In simple terms, it means a product and its ingredients have not been applied to live animals during production. However, as ‘cruelty-free’ isn’t a regulated term, some brands sneakily misuse this claim. Our standard is categorically no harming of animals, at any stage. Period.
What’s the difference between ‘cruelty-free’ and ‘vegan’?
We get the confusion here, but they’re not the same thing. Vegan beauty means the product contains no animal derivatives, but be warned, it doesn’t necessarily mean they haven’t been tested on animals (sigh).
Are there any alternatives to testing on animals?
We’re glad you asked! Of course. There are plenty of effective alternatives out there such as using human cells and tissues, advanced computer-modelling techniques, and studies with (our personal heroes) human volunteers.
Is animal testing still happening?
It pains us to say it, but yes. Numbers have dropped in recent years *small happy dance*, but according to PETA statistics, more than 110 million animals - including mice, frogs, dogs, rabbits, monkeys, fish, and birds - are killed in U.S. labs every year. Read that again… Not cool. Not kind.
How can I help?
