Once when you wake up (your pillowcase is a hotbed for bacteria) and once before bed. When you wash your face, you remove the dirt, the days grime, and excess oil that’s settled inside your pores. This will prevent breakouts, clogged pores and in general keep skin looking healthy. There’s absolutely no point applying products to skin that’s not cleansed, save your money trust us; totally pointless. You need a clean canvas to work with.
Exfoliation allows healthier skin cells to live on the surface of the skin, giving you a brighter complexion while also minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. Whatever you do, don’t get exfoliator happy, dead skin cells don’t pile up that fast and you’ll leave your face over scrubbed, sore and red – just no.
Once you’ve cleansed (and exfoliated on the right days) you need to hydrate and protect. Good news is this is the final step (told you we’d have you out the door in 15 minutes). Moisturiser delivers much-needed soothing vitamins and nutrients to the skin, whilst also acting as a barrier to the skin to shield you from the day’s toxins, smoke, pollution, blue light so on, and so on. Apply it in the morning to recover from lost moisture during sleep and then again after you’ve done your bedtime cleanse.
Now, we know we said three-step but hear us out – SPF is a must, all day, every day. Inside, outside, on the beach, on your balcony it doesn’t matter just wear the SPF okay – because you know, wrinkles, sunburn, dry patches, moles, and yeah cancer.
