After a decade working in the beauty industry, Isadora Belfort felt compelled to return to her roots and dig up some of the sights and smells that had inspired her as a child growing up in Brazil. Herlum is the result, an independent British brand inspired by nature. Working for global companies, Isadora had (and has) a passion for creating products that she described to us as "happiness in a bottle". However, she became disheartened by the way the industry was negatively impacting the environment with, in her opinion, little care for the future.

The name, ‘Herlum’, comes from the phonetic Portuguese pronunciation of the word ‘heirloom’ – a reference to craftsmanship, timelessness and understated luxury. “One of my favourite things to do was pick the berries from the jaboticaba and tamarind trees in my family’s garden,” she said. “Being outdoors in nature left me with a respect for our planet and our local communities.”
